Harmony Day 2013

Each year Roseworth Primary School is proud to promote Harmony Day and our annual Harmony Day Assembly is a great activity to be involved in. Our school has children from many countries and we really enjoy the opportunity to see the students parade in their national dress.

The message of Harmony Day is Everyone Belongs.  It is a day to celebrate Australia’s diversity. It is a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home – from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from many countries around the world.

What is so great about Harmony Day is the way in which our students wear their national dress with pride and the fact that families are also involved in the assembly.

Our staff also get involved by wearing their own national dress or in the national dress of countries that they have visited.

Classes learn about countries around the world before Harmony Day as it is very important that we understand the cultural diversity of Australia and about the country of origin of the people that make up Australia as it is today.

Well done to everyone who got involved in the Harmony Assembly and for the work that is done in classrooms and around the school to promote the Harmony Day message.
